Earlier today, Fort Bend County raised its COVID-19 threat level from “yellow,” or moderate risk, to “orange,” which means there’s a significant risk of exposure to the virus in that area.


Harris County remains under the “orange” threat level as well.


The spread of the Delta variant is leading to a surge of COVID cases and hospitalizations in the Greater Houston area.


But on the flip side, vaccinations are also up.


Harris County – and all of Texas – saw a sharp increase last week: a 26% jump in the state-wide vaccinations.
