Ep17 Dmitriy is a part-time knifemaker and like so many of us not getting enough time in the workshop. Yet he still manages to be recognized as one of Australia’s top knife makers. He takes a lot of his inspiration from Japanese knives yet still manages to have a modern feel and style. Even though he performs at such a high level and his knives are highly sought after with much greater demand than he feels he will ever be able to satisfy he manages to stay very humble. Believing that he is not doing anything that special. We chat about his Knives including his long-awaited small batch production run and how long he takes to finish each knife. We talk about knife pricing and the Australian knife making community. How coronavirus has changed things including knife show and daily life.
