A little bit about my back story...the obsession began in 4th grade, which is when my teacher, Miss Johnson, first exposed me to environmentalism. My dad was a water chemist and I grew up to work for a non-profit environmental organization. So, yeah, I like the planet and have for a while.
Flash forward to the present day, however, and my company does not have a primary focus on the environment. Do we provide a valuable service? Yes! Are we saving any part of the planet? No.
That's about to change. Please know, I am not over here thinking that Emily Martinez will save the planet. However, if I can come up with processes for my business that decrease our carbon footprint and as a direct result increase my bottom line...well, now we're talking.
I don't expect everyone to share my environmental obsession, but I imagine that many people share my "make more money obsession". If you've been listening to this podcast, you know that I am all about solving more than one problem with a single implementation and in this case, I hope to find profitable ways for my company to be less of a burden on the planet.
If you have any ideas about things I can do to make this happen, please let me know! I need help to make this a reality!
