In this episode Tim speaks about how We all have to make decisions all of the time. They range from trivial issues like what to eat for lunch right up to life changing like who to marry, where to live and work etc. Others resort to decision making by taking vote, sticking a pin in a map or tossing a coin.
In it’s simple sense, decision making is choosing between 2 or more courses of action.
Some people put off making decisions by endlessly searching for more information or getting other people to offer their recommendations.
In the wider process of problem solving, decision making involves choosing between possible solutions to a problem.
Decisions can be made “intuitive or “reasoned” or combination of both.
Intuition is a gut feeling about a possible course of action.
Intuition is of past experiences and values. It’s worth taking this in to account because it reflects your learning about life.
It is, however, not always based on reality, only your perceptions. Many of which have been started in childhood and may not be very mature as a result.
It’s worth examining your gut feeling closely, especially if you have strong feeling against a particular course of action to see if you can work out why, and whether the feeling is justified.
