Previous Episode: Follow Your Leader

It is Saturday 24th October 2020 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to the Book of Genesis 18 and I am reading from verse 13:

“And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?”

Verse 14 says:

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

And that is maybe the question The Lord is asking you today because of the predicament you find yourself in.

Is there anything too hard for The Lord Jesus to help you with?

Remember, Hebrews Chapter 13 verse 8 says He is the same, yesterday, today and forevermore. He is a miracle-working God.

Sarah and Abraham were almost 100 years old when they bore a child and they called Him Isaac, and that was the beginning of the nation of Israel and all of us who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Revelation Chapter 1 verse 8 says that The Lord is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Beginning and the End.

Is there anything too hard for The Lord?

I want to ask you a question?

Do you honestly still believe in miracles?

I think the first book that I ever read when I became a Christian was a little book called, “I believe in miracles.”

It was testimonies of Kathryn Kuhlman, that woman who was used by God so mightily to perform so many miracles in her ministry.

She was the daughter of a farmer and she was a lady who believed in God.

Do you know that Jesus performed very little miracles, very few in Nazareth, because they did not believe that He was the Son of God, but when he went just down, maybe a few hours walk, down to Galilee, to Capernaum, mighty miracles, signs and wonders took place.

I want to encourage you today to start to really put your faith in God.

But Angus, how do we get that faith?

Well, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Romans Chapter 10 verse 17.

When you spend time in the morning reading the Bible, your faith will be increased.

Billy Graham is regarded as probably the greatest modern day evangelist of all time and when he was a young evangelist there were certain things in the Bible that he did not understand.

So he said, he went into a forest one day and he took his Bible and he opened it up and he laid it on top of a tree stump, and he got down on his knees and he said,”Lord, I don’t understand everything in this Book but I am choosing today to believe your Word is unadulterated, written by men under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit.”

And with that he stood up and he went out and he took on the whole world.

What about you today?

We are living in terrible times. There are so many things that are upside down and we say, “Lord, help us!” And He says, “Believe, just believe.”

Have a wonderful weekend as you will believe God to undertake for you.

God bless you and goodbye.
