Walking By Faith Or Sight

I want to ask you a question. Are you walking today by faith or are you walking by sight?
2 Corinthians Chapter 5 and verse 7 is where the Bible says we walk by faith and not by sight.
How do you see the future in this world that is locked down with this dreaded Coronavirus?
I want to say to you I really believe that the worst thing that is happening at the moment is that people are being controlled by a spirit of fear.
In 2 Timothy verse 7, The Lord says, “I have not given you a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind.”
You see, there were ten men who were controlled by a spirit of fear in the Bible.
They were told to go in and spy the land.
They came back with a negative report, “There are huge giants. There is no future here.”
But there were two men, Joshua and Caleb who said, “It is a land flowing with milk and honey.”
How do you see the future?
How big is God? Well, God is as big as you allow Him to be.
I want to tell you a lovely story that took place in my life about thirty odd years ago.
I was invited to preach the gospel in the Agricultural Hall in the southern most town of the continent of Africa. And when I had been preaching there for a few days, they told me about a family who were farming nearby.

But you see, this family – their dad was an industrialist in Cape Town and he decided to go farming and so he bought a farm for his boys.
And these sons of his, when they saw the huge mountains which are so beautiful, the craggy rocks, the rocky surface, they thought, “Well, we can’t farm cattle and milk cows and grow crops here. “
Their dad said, “Well, that is how you farm.”
They said, “No dad, we can see a land of milk and honey. We are going to sell all the tractors. We are going to sell all the cows. We are going to leave the land. We are going to buy pick-ups. We are going to employ the local ladies in the district and we are going to go into those mountains and we are going to collect fynbos which is indigenous flowers and we are going to export them all over the world.”
And I am sure a lot of people thought, “You will never make it.”
Well, I want to tell you, the last I heard, they were the most prosperous farming family in the district because they had eyes of faith. They were walking by faith and not by sight and that is how you and I are going to face the future when the lockdown is lifted.
There is so much potential for those who would walk by faith and trust The Lord Jesus Christ to give them a game plan that we have never heard before.
We are going to go forward because we are walking with God and God is on our side.
So remember, Numbers 14:8-, the land flows with milk and honey. I can see it in the spirit and I have never been so excited before about what the future holds.
