It is Thursday morning, 5th November 2020, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan with a thought for the day.

If we go to the Book of 1 John Chapter 5 and from verse 11:

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Yes, the testimony is very simple. He who has Jesus in his heart has eternal life, and he who does not have Jesus does not have life at all, not in this world or even in eternity.

You know, Aunty Jill and I used to have a children’s home. Those children are now all grown up.

There was one little boy, I will never forget it as long as I live - his name was Thoko but he only looked like he was only four years old.

He was terminally ill.

And little Thoko used to love riding my horse and I would bring a pillow with me, and I would put him on the horse and he would ride just in front of the saddle on my horse, and we used to talk about eternal life.

He was so thin that his little body couldn’t stand the pressure of the saddle, and that is why we put the cushion in the front.

And we used to talk about eternal life.

And he said he was waiting for that white horse with Jesus riding on it, to come and fetch him and take him to eternity.

Aunty Jill would read to him out of a children’s book called “What is Heaven Like?”

That was his favourite book.

And he would look at the pictures of flowers and trees and animals and birds.

And then one day Jesus came and took him home - but little Those was more than ready.

I want to ask you a question today.

What are you focusing on?

Are you focusing on the Coronavirus or are you focusing on Heaven?

C S Lewis said, “There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

Today, maybe just say that little prayer and ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior yet once again because without Him there is no future, but we praise God that He has promised us that He will come, and He will save those who love Him, and take them to be with Him in eternity forever.

God bless you and have a wonderful day, as you lift up your eyes and look, for your redemption draws very near.
