Previous Episode: Have Faith In God

It is Tuesday morning 3rd November 2020, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 26 and I am just reading two verses, 3 and 4:

You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

Trust in the Lord forever,

For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

You and I need to concentrate on the things of God.

If we go to the game reserve and we sit and watch that majestic elephant which is the largest existing animal on earth - it weighs up to 6 tons; it lives up to 70 years old;

It travels up to 20 kilometers a day; it has to find kilos and kilos of food to eat but never panics, is never in a rush.

He looks like he is just moseying along - 20 kilometres a day!

He needs to look for tons of food but he never seems to be in a rush.

You will watch him stripping the bark off a small little mopani tree, taking his time and yet he is always looking in good nick.

Why is it that you and I are rushing around at such a pace?

Does The Lord Jesus not hold more importance and value on you, His own creation that He created in His own image, than an elephant?

Yet, He takes care of each and every one of those elephants. He is the Shepherd of the sheep. He says clearly:

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Today, contemplate, think on that mighty African Elephant who always seems to have all the time in the day and yet he never seems to go hungry. Why?

Well, maybe he knows something you and I don’t know. Maybe he is aware that The King of Glory, the Creator of heaven and earth has got him in the palm of His Hand.

Have a wonderful day today as you start to pace yourself more and not worry so much.

The Lord is in complete control irrespective of what the news and the television might tell you.

He knows everything about you and He loves you very much.

Have a blessed day.
