My guests today are Kryshan Randel and Ryan McDonald.

Ryan and Kryshan are roommates at a home that has become legendary amongst a certain cohort of Vancouver creative minds and party-goers. It’s a secretive Mecha of the creative arts that has been shrouded in mystery and strange rumours that only get wilder with each retelling.

Few people have heard the name of this home, and even fewer know the full extent of the finely-tuned chaos that has existed within it’s walls. But today, we will hear the amazing story of Treehouse Manor from two of it’s inhabitants, who are sadly in the process of a renoviction. Yes, Treehouse Manor will soon be torn down to rubble to make way for more boring townhouses where nothing this cool will ever happen again...

Kryshan Randel lives and breathes film. He has been passionate about film-making since he was a baby. Kryshan is a film director and instructor, who has directed dozens of short films, with some of these touring the festival circuit worldwide. His short films have appeared at Sitges, Fantastic Fest, and Fantasia, and have screened on Amazon Instant Video, Movieola, and the Sundance Channel.

Kryshan was at the helm for four episodes of the web series, Libelle, the Directors Guild of Canada’s Just Watch Us, campaign, and commercials for the smartphone app, Shotlister. Kryshan also does freelance shooting and editing for clients such as BBC America, Netflix, Legendary Pictures, Universal Studios, and Disney.

Ryan McDonald is an actor, director, producer, writer, cinematographer, photographer, editor, projection designer, sometimes fight choreographer, occasional slow-motion animator, and life long party thrower. He is like a Swiss Army Knife of film and media skills, a MacGyver when it comes to problem solving, and his leadership has been likened to that of Jean Luc Picard.

As a member of the Art Left Creative Group, Ryan has created content for clients such as: Telus, Bard on the Beach, Studio 58, The Vancouver International Film Festival, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
