In this workshop, we focused excerpts from Gloria Anzaldúa's Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza. Specifically, we defined and discussed her theories of the borderland and mestiza consciousness. We also engaged in dialogue to determine why it is important to address these theories in our classrooms and how we could possibly do so.
