Have you ever cried for no reason at all?
I did. This past week.
...until I realized, “OH. That’s why…”
Actors are emotional. We don’t always know we’re in a bad mood until we’re hit with (what feels like) a wave of negative energy. And suddenly, we’re like, “Where the hell did this come from?!”
This is why it’s so important to a) stay in tune with our feelings, and b) learn to recognize where those feelings are coming from. It’s not easy work. (In fact, it’s one of the reasons why I offer coachings.)
Just know that this can be learned. But it takes a lot of work and lots of awareness.
Here’s my story of having an ugly cry in a Starbucks bathroom, and how I figured out where those feelings came from.
It’s all on episode #65 of the Tony Rossi Show podcast.
