The Tone Mob Podcast

418 episodes - English - Latest episode: 5 days ago - ★★★★★ - 202 ratings

The year was 2015. Show host Blake Wyland intended to start a podcast where he took a deep dive with his guests from the guitar world to explain their rigs. What happened was that, but also a whole lot more. The show quickly evolved into discussions about people's lives. Guitars, pedals, amps, etc. are the central hub of the show, but it really is more about the PEOPLE behind all of it. Both the musicians who use the gear, and the folks that create these magical tools of expression. You can expect chats about songwriting, favorite bands, family, loss, addiction, conspiracy theories, philosophy, and most of all....... food. This podcast goes all over the place. Come take a ride.

Why Do You Need An Acoustic Guitar? w/ Gretchen Menn and Daniele Gottardo

July 10, 2023 22:03 - 57 minutes

This is a super rad, and super unique episode of the podcast! I met Gretchen Menn and Daniele Gottardo at the Breedlove booth at Gearfest. All of us being primarily electric guitar players hanging out at the booth of an acoustic guitar manufacturer prompted a question: What is it about acoustic guitars that draws us in? What makes them so special? And WHY should us as electric guitar enthusiasts pick up the acoustic more often? Plus there is MUSIC played on this episode by Gretchen and Daniel...

July 07, 2023 18:14 - 34 minutes

Way back in 2016 when I was very new to podcasting and being a part of the guitar world, I attended my first Winter NAMM show. The very first thing I did was march up to the PRS Guitars booth to have an interview with none other than Paul Reed Smith himself. This was all orchestrated by my friend Ryan Burke from the now infamous YouTube channel  @60CycleHumCast  . What proceeded was an extremely fun conversation that the internet didn't seem to understand at all. So when Ryan and I found out ...
