Everyday Conversations Regarding Mental Health 4 May 23
Star war day.
I have another special guest to carry on the conversation.

Susan Michel speaks on A Course in Miracles, which she has been studying for over 30 years. Her book is entitled Surrender to Joy: From Suicide to Serenity. She is a 2-time suicide survivor and understands first-hand what being overwhelmed with pain feels like. Her mission to help others identify and process emotional pain so transformation can occur and they can grow and open up to their innate brilliance.

She is a regular host on Paltalk, ACIM Gather. She has been a guest speaker on numerous podcasts including Private Lessons with Jesus, The Happiness Workshop and Chat with Charlie. Her writings have been featured on well-known media platforms including ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and Yahoo Finance.

When I was 20 years old, I tried to end my life twice. With 6 bottles of sleeping pills inside of me, as my mother drove me to the hospital, I realized I didn’t really want to die, I just wanted to kill the pain.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. I understand what their desperation feels like. What helped me was facing my pain and developing a spiritual practice based on A Course in Miracles.
I’m Susan Michel, Author, Suicide Prevention Advocate, and 2-time suicide survivor.
My book, Surrender to Joy: From Suicide to Serenity is about becoming aware of our unhealed pain so healing can occur. Our natural state is one of peace, love, joy, and happiness. However, in order to attain this state consistently, we need to become aware of the blocks to love that we have unconsciously created.
As a young woman, I felt abandoned and betrayed by my dad and everyone else in my life. When I denied my unhealed pain, my uncomfortable feelings exacerbated. When I owned my pain, I began to heal. My joy was on the other side of all that pain. I found that the keys to true transformation are forgiveness and gratitude.
My mission is to help others identify and process emotional pain so transformation can occur and they can grow and open up to their innate brilliance.
