Welcome to episode one of The Race is On, our special series to celebrate the BHF being the TCS London Marathon 2022 Charity Partner. Hosted by Aimee Fuller, two-time Olympian, author and broadcaster, this series will feature interviews with a whole host of guests who are key to the success of this partnership. In this episode, Aimee speaks to London Marathon Event Director, Hugh Brasher and BHF’s Senior Product Delivery Manager, Kate Sparks. Aimee gets the low down on how the London Marathon began, how they have adapted over the past few challenging years and what lies in store for the future of the event. We'll also hear why being chosen as charity of the year means so much to the BHF.

The British Heart Foundation is proud to be the official charity for the 2022 TCS London Marathon. We're raising money to fund one of the most promising fields of research today, regenerative medicine. Researchers like Professor Sanjay Sinha and his team are creating a ground-breaking heart healing patch that could repair damaged heart muscle and transform the lives of those affected by heart failure, restoring hearts to their former glory, and helping to save lives of millions globally.

If you would like to donate to Sanjay's research and help get the healing heart patch over the line, then please, please visit bhf.org.uk/heartpatch

And if you've got any questions or concerns about your heart or circulatory health and want to talk with a cardiac nurse on the BHF’s Heart Helpline, go to our website at bhf.org.uk/hearthelpline and you'll find all the contact options there.
