Episode 18 features Professor Rachel Mills, who is the Dean of The Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences at The University of Southampton. We catch up with Rachel to talk about her career which includes leading on both research and education strategies. She has developed and delivered undergraduate and postgraduate programmes but more recently she has led the development and delivery of a MOOC (free online course) called ‘Exploring our Ocean’ that has had global reach, with learners of all ages and impact on societal understanding of sustainable oceans. We also get a flavour of what it is like to be the Dean of a faculty and gain insight into her effective style of leadership.
