Welcome to the TeachHER Podcast Powered by The Innocent Brown Girl Project. Our mission is to convey strategies for Grit & Grace with educators and advocates of African American and Latina Girls. Thank you for joining us today.

Today, our guest is Megan Wilburn. Megan is a veteran educator with a Master's Degree in School Counseling. As a counselor, she discovered that students often misbehaved due to the lack of tools needed to relieve stress, communicate their needs and frustrations, and that they did not have healthy outlets to help regulate their emotions.  Growing up Megan attended schools in low-income areas and used her experiences to build a rapport with students who, like her friends, needed more safe spaces and fewer consequences. She created MOVE to give students an opportunity to develop the skills needed to navigate tough environments and avoid premature death and jail.
