With the current economic hardships, many schools are laying off teachers and not really hiring new ones. As a teacher looking for a job, you can wait another year for something to happen, or possibly consider teaching overseas. In fact, teaching overseas has shown veteran teachers that education is more than babysitting/test-taking and new teachers gain some valuable experience.
