So you think teaching a classroom full of kids is hard? How about managing an entire school? Oh lets add in covid, online learning, managing faculty and staff plus schools with boarding students. There are a ton of responsibilities a schools Principals needs to manage.

On this episode, we chat with Dr. Katrina Samson, the incoming Principal for Havergal College, and independent all girls school in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Samson spent 18 years of her career at Appleby College as an English Teacher, but started her career in administration in her 20's as the Upper School Director at the school. She spent the last 11 years of her career as the Head of School at Appleby College and help guide the school through a difficult year during covid.

I ask Dr. Samson:

Why change environments after 18 years at one school? What kept her up at night during the covid school year? What were some of the challenges of managing a school during covid? Should Principals teach and do administration? Is it possible at all schools? What were her favourite memories at Appleby College?
