This week I talk to the ‘`godfather of Rave’ Matt Nelson a.k.a Slipmatt (@thedjslipmatt) With over 30 years of DJ and production success Slipmatt played a pivotal part in the 90’s rave scene.
Matt explains how hard work and dedication was at the root of his success and continues to provide longevity today.
I ask him to discuss how he went from buying house records in 1986 to starting his own label. Matt has a huge following that has followed him through the decades, I ask him how he created such a following and how he has adapted in today’s social media driven world.
We discuss why he chose to turn his live radio show into a podcast, and how he went from the underground rave scene to appearing on Top of the Pops (twice!)
Lastly Slipmatt explains how taking up running kickstarted a journey of personal development and the effect it has had on his life.
