Laurie & Matt discuss the epic failure of Matt's journey in self-publishing his first book on Amazon, how he recovered, and the value of the failure.

Just when an author should be feeling the exultation of completing and publishing a book, Matt recounts the technical difficulties he encountered and how they led to feelings of self-doubt instead of the joy he was anticipating. This failure, it turns out, provided an opportunity for Matt to continue his growth and make improvements to his book that maybe he wouldn't have had things gone smoothly. This of course leads Laurie & Matt to reflect on their roles as parents and teachers, and why we need to allow our teens to fail instead of intervening so often.
