In this episode I’m joined by my new brother in metal, Peter McCormack, host of the What Bitcoin Did podcast. His podcast is one of my top favs in the crypto space and it’s been awesome hearing him drop references to his roots in same underground music scenes that that I’ve grown up in.

He shares about his personal journey of political awakening through the messages in the lyrics of some of his favorite bands and how he got into crypto and podcasting. I was deeply moved by his heart wrenching story of having to be an outlaw to aquire Bitcoin so he could help his ailed mother by purchasing contraband natural herbal medicine.

We discuss the origins of Bitcoin partially being in BitTorrent and how Metallica’s lawsuit against Napster may have been a key catalyst to the evolution of crypto-currency.

We also talk shop about some of our favorite bands, his intentions for wearing a Master of Puppets shirt to the SEC, the future of crypto use-cases for bands and artists, the do-it-yourself spirit, the solidarity among hardcore fans of the 80s and 90s, the Proof of Keys event, and much more.
