Meet Derval Barzey,  an Environmental Management Professional with experience spanning the industrial and regulatory side of the Trinidad and Tobago energy sector. Her expertise includes Risk Management, Environmental Impact Assessments, Management Systems, stakeholder Engagement and Sustainable Energy Policy and Project development. 

Derval holds an MBA in Sustainable Energy Management, and a BSc in Environmental and Natural Resources Management, and Agribusiness from the University of the West Indies (UWI). She is also trained in Energy Efficiency Management from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Solar Electric Design and Installation from the Solar Energy International (SEI) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards for sustainability reporting.

Derval is the founder of The Climate Conscious, a consultancy service that connects individuals and organizations to sustainability solutions. She hosts and produces The Climate Conscious Podcast which advocates for action on environmental sustainability and climate resilience with a focus on the Caribbean region. 

She is a member of the Clinton Foundation’s Women in Renewable Energy Network, and the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. Her interests include travel, yoga, permaculture and social dancing.
