We've known Dr. Miller for quite some time and finally had a chance to sit down with her and discuss some of your most common questions about what it's like to be a Caribbean medical student, and more importantly, what it takes to successfully navigate this alternative pathway to get into residency.
In today's episode, we discuss, amongst other things: 1) How to avoid culture shock when first landing on your Caribbean island. 2) How to handle the large volume of information they throw at you in medical school. 3) Whether Caribbean school 'stigma' is a big deal, and 4) The visa process for IMGs/FMGs who match into US Medical Residency programs.
