It's BBQ season so lets fire up those grills and smokers and cook some food. I'm going to give you my homemade Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce at the end of this episode.

DR. PEPPER BBQ SAUCE

1 stick butter

2 tablespoons minced garlic

½ finely chopped onion

2 cans Dr. Pepper

2 cups ketchup

½ cup molasses

2 tablespoons liquid smoke

2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

2 tablespoons Franks Red Hot Hot Sauce


In a  medium sized saucepan, melt the butter then saute the onions and garlic until the onions are translucent.Add in the remaining ingredients, one at a time, making sure that each is fully stirred in before adding the other.Add the 2 cans of Dr. Pepper last.Reduce the heat of your burner to low and let simmer until your sauce is reduced by half or more.Let your sauce cool and store in an airtight container.This will make a little more than 2 cups of sauce.
