When you’re in the middle of a pandemic and make the decision to open your schools to full-time in-person learning, it’s good to know you have health experts on the payroll. South Jersey Catholic Schools have some of the most well-trained nurses working in them today. Our hosts Marianela Nunez and Mike Walsh talk to three - Shayna Benson from Saint Margaret Regional School; Cele McEvoy Walter from Paul VI High School; and Mary Beth Abate from Assumption Regional Catholic School - about how they helped the schools reopen, worked with parents, and cared for both students and staff as they lived through the pandemic. We had a great conversation about how these healthcare professionals stay on top of the medical news and keep people cared for, this year and every year.
[Producers note: Unfortunately, the internet connection for Mary Beth was unstable, so we were’t able to speak with her at length during the show, but we will certainly have her back on in the future.]
