The Author

Jason King was born in Michigan but has lived at a medley of places across the U.S. Throughout his adult years he has done a variety of jobs, currently as he so succinctly puts it slinging coffees and sarcasms at the local Tim Horton’s coffee chain as a side-hobby. Some side-hobby I say.  Jason served in the US Airforce, based at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina, where he served as a Readiness Specialist.  While there he met his now wife Beth (Joanne Elizabeth). However, at the time Beth was betrothed to a friend of his and it wasn’t until years later that through Facebook they reconnected, fate and destiny springs to mind here. Throughout his service years Jason served abroad and earned two associate degrees. But for Jason as throughout all his life, the passion and love of reading and writing is what sustained him as a youth and still so to this very day, perhaps more so now as he follows his holy grail of being a renowned author respected both by the public and peers in the profession. So, let’s turn to his book.

Check out our video about it here!

The Book

The book was initially published on Amazon in February 2022, it’s a fair size book of 588 pages. The story is creatively and imaginatively written by Jason and to those superlatives you must add exquisite style and grammar. The narrative is told over 24 chapters of reasonably equal length. The subject matter within the confines of the pages tells the story of superheroes and normal people alike who possess exceptional abilities (Metahumans) to deal with loss, challenges, fears and anger issues, it also talks about the lengths some people will go to in order to control others, for me these are the narcissist characters that are extremely head strong with grit and determination routed into their characteristic makeup to achieve their aims and goals.

Delving further into the book you come across the trouble-shooters, assorted characters that when you look at their characteristics you would assume where everyday folk that you meet on the street, but they are characters who can kick-ass and get the job done, whatever’s necessary to protect the status-quo of the world.

The main character Thomas Brody alias code-name Shocking Blue, Jason King sets up as one of the Metahumans a newly identified class of humanity who are beginning to play a more notable role in society, despite being around in human history for some considerable time, albeit in small numbers, the metahumans are coming to the fore. The characters and their mannerisms interact extremely well with each other as they rub side by side in the tense, action filled, gripping plot. As I would expect from an author of Jason king’s ability the chapters are dotted with twists, turns, the unexpected and sit of your pants thrills and spills.

What a great book, it had me hooked right from the impressive start.

Thank you, Jason, for giving me this wonderful opportunity to talk to you about your book The Puppet Show.
