Well, all things come to and end. We had a great run recapping every minute of this show, and it worked well, not only because we got a Game of Thrones prequel that coincided with the last couple episodes of this podcast, but also because it seems that fantasy storytelling is making a huge comeback across all mediums. Between the Witcher and the Sandman on Netflix, His Dark Materials on HBO, Dune in theaters along with the critically mixed reception of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon, along with Wheel of Time, fantasy storytelling has arguably returned in a very large capacity, and it's all thanks to this show. Game of Thrones, despite all the flaws of the last season, is a pop culture phenomenon, and alongside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, changed long form storytelling forever. With its attention to detail, incredible characters, amazing adherance to morally grey subject matter and jaw dropping special effects in the later seasons, the show has earned its place in the lexicon of shows. And now, to answer the question we set out to do when we first started this show in April of last year: what went wrong? What happened to cause arguably the biggest and most important show of the last decade to just vanish without a trace? All of that and more is answered on tonight's finale. Pat and I have had a great time breaking down one of our favorite shows, and we hope you had fun listening to us. But in the meantime, keep coming back for more of the #talkintvpodcast and as always, remember to watch more movies and TV in this case.
