On this week's episode of the Talkin’ About podcast we speak to Roxy Henley, who grew up in the beautiful seaside town of Brighton and at 10 raided the school costume department styling her own outfit for the production of Bugsy Malone. From there it became apparent she’d already found her talent, at 14 she went shopping with her friends to style and put outfits together for them. She later started studying at the John Morgan University in Cardiff doing a 4 year fashion marketing course 3 weeks after turning 18. In 2014 she moved to London and begun styling for the red carpet, sending clothes all around the world. Working with and soon picking up personal shopping clients this is where she fell in love with the idea of being a personal shopper. She believes personal shopping is more like therapy, or to be precise 70% therapy and 30% fashion. Deciding to take a step back from attending fashion week and fast fashion shows due to the very nature of the business, as it was making her feel worthless and insignificant with the meteoric rise of influences attending shows for aesthetic and not adding value. Focusing her efforts towards herself and the launch of her new blog and newsletter Empowerment Through Style. She says “It’s all about your shape, not your size. Everybody feels rubbish about themselves because of the media”
