Laura Cheek: From Teacher to Bookkeeper

How my student and now bookkeeper and team member for other projects, Laura, left teaching mid-year and learned a brand new skill to start earning money. Laura also came up with out-of-the-box ideas on gaining experience in this new-for-her skill to have a flexible life and make a good living.
From Laura: I grew up in California and moved to the Pacific Northwest as soon as I could. My passions are the Earth’s animals and plants, but desiring a stable income, I became a high school chemistry teacher. I taught in Portland for 20 years and was proud to own my own home as a single woman. I sold my beautiful home to escape my unhealthy career and am nervously excited to start my own bookkeeping business.
