I sat down and had the pleasure of talking to the founder of Travel4Purpose, Shammi Shah. Our main topic of discussion surrounded her business.
Shammi talked to me about studying in Australia and Hong Kong and getting hooked on travelling then. We discussed why she decided to leave the U.K., her home and move back to Kenya, where she was born. I asked her about the courage and bravery it took to quit a well-paid corporate job and start her business, Travel4Purpose, especially during a pandemic.
I went into depth about what Travel4Purpose entails to do to help travellers who want to explore Kenya. We went into detail about why it's unique and stands out from its competitors. I spoke to her about some of the challenges the business has faced as well.
Shammi talked to me about the business being environmentally focused and giving back to the community. She tells me why that is important.
I also asked her what can be done to get people to visit Africa and Kenya after the pandemic, as the numbers pre-pandemic in terms of visitors compared to Europe weren't being challenged.
Shammi also told me why she doesn't miss living in the U.K. and why the move to Kenya has been the best decision she has made in her life. I also asked Shammi where she would like to travel to when she has more freedom to move.
It was a great discussion, and I look forward to visiting Kenya myself very soon and using Travel4Purpose.
