If ever there was a less suss person in the world its Jimmy Fallon. That didnt stop him from joining some major twitch streamers for some Among US!

From our story

Jimmy Fallon streamed Among Us on Twitch with a star-studded group in his debut on the platform Tuesday evening. The stream lasted about an hour, and near the end, more than 125,000 people were watching live.

Fallon was joined by The Roots’ Questlove, Tariq Trotter, and Kirk Douglas; Stranger Things stars Noah Schnapp (who plays Will Byers) and Gaten Matarazzo (who plays Dustin Henderson); streamers Sykkuno and Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter; YouTuber Corpse Husband; and Among Us developer InnerSloth’s community director, Victoria Tran. Twitch will now use an ‘investigative partner’ for off-platform misconduct

Twitch is making major moves to deal with Harassment and Misconduct.

From the Verge

On Wednesday, Twitch announced an expansion of its Hateful Conduct and Harassment Policy that takes into account behavior taking place off of the platform. A blog post from the company shared that the it is bringing on a “third party investigative partner” to support Twitch’s internal team with investigations, and to help enforce off-platform violations.

Per Twitch’s post, the new partner is an “experienced investigations law firm” that will help the company to “more thoroughly investigate and respond to reports of off-service misconduct.” In addition to adding sheer numbers to the team that investigates incident reports, the post also shared that there will a dedicated email address for people to report “egregious, off-service misconduct.”

The post elaborated on two categories of off-service enforcement:

Category one: Someone is harassed on Twitch, as well as off Twitch. When this happens, we will take into account verifiable, off-service behaviors or statements that relate to an incident that took place on Twitch. For example: if we’re reviewing a harassment report about an incident that happened live on stream, related or continued harassment on Twitter could be taken into account when reported to us. This is how our current off-service policy works in the vast majority of cases, and will not change.

Category two: We will now enforce against serious offenses that pose a substantial safety risk to the Twitch community, even if these actions occur entirely off Twitch.

The newly expanded enforcement will be focusing on some of the most “egregious types of physical and psychological harm,” including but limited to: deadly violence and violent extremism, carrying out or acting as an accomplice to non-consensual sexual activities and/or sexual assault, and sexual exploitation of children.

Rogue: Obviously this has major upside in helping curb terrible crimes. Do you see any possible pitfalls here?

Twitch streamer hits 1k subs during subathon trapped in a closet

In our first story, Who knows what category this goes under on Twitch. A streamer is doing a subathon in a very peculiar fashion

From Dexerto

A Twitch streamer by the name ‘IZIDORE’ has hit 1,000 subscribers on the streaming platform thanks to a subathon – all while trapped in a closet with balloons and, bizarrely, a leaf-blower.

It was through a subathon that streamer Ludwig became Twitch’s most subscribed to creator, with over 120,000 subscribers and a 240+ hour stream.

While IZIDORE, with just over 8,000 followers on Twitch, could not realistically hope for a similarly monumental response, he probably got more than he bargained for when hitting 1,000 subscribers.

However, the twist for IZIDORE was that the whole subathon would be completed from inside of a fairly modest closet. The closet, too, would become filled with balloons as a result of bit donations. The torture didn’t end there though, with a subscription or a gifted sub leading to a leaf blower blasting.

We can only imagine how sore the streamer felt when the broadcast finally wrapped at 21 hours, after nearly a full day of being stuck in a closet.

Stump: You didn't know R Kelly streamed did you? What other sort of gimmick subathons will streamers come up with?

YouTube: Videos With Moderate Profanity, Drug Content Can Be Monetized
We are far enough into this video so we can curse. I wouldn't though because I am an angel.
From Variety
YouTube said it expanded its monetization policies to allow for moderate profanity — for example, “shit” and “bitch” — used in the first 30 seconds of a video. It already had allowed light profanity (like “hell” or “damn”) throughout videos and in video titles, as well as censored profanity (including the f-word and gestures like the middle finger) and infrequent usage of strong profanity (like the f-word) after the first 30 seconds.
In addition, YouTube will allow ads for more videos about “recreational drugs and drug-related content,” including those that “focus on the purchase, fabrication or distribution of drugs, such as the fabrication of home-made opioids” and “news reports about cannabis farms.” It also is granting more leeway for videos with adult themes “delivered through the context of humor” (e.g. romance and dating jokes) and for sex-education content.
“Based on creator and advertiser input, we’ve updated our guidelines to allow more content to become eligible for full monetization (green icon) while continuing to maintain advertiser industry standards,” YouTube said in an update on its support site.
It’s a continuation of YouTube’s gradual easing up on monetization restrictions. In 2017, as part of its attempts to become more “brand safe” for major marketers, YouTube began demonetizing videos and channels that ran afoul of advertiser-friendly guidelines. That crackdown — dubbed the “adpocalypse” — resulted in some creators experiencing significant ad-revenue losses.
Cheat: This seems like a good thing for creators especially when things are live like this show but dont you think it would make sense to allow brands to choose what sort of content they are advertised w/ instead of blanket bans on things?
Twitch Streamer xQc Banned From NoPixel GTA Roleplay Server Yet Again

In a shocking turn of events xQc has been banned from a major platform….said no one ever. What wont this guy do and when will people have enough of his SHENANIGANS.

From Gamerant

elix "xQc" Lengyel has now racked up three bans from the Grand Theft Auto Online NoPixel roleplay server in three months. Those familiar with the former Overwatch pro's streaming career know he's an often controversial figure in streaming circles and this isn't the first game he's upset other streamers in. While playing in the Rust OfflineTV server late last year, xQc's actions frustrated others to the point that popular streamer Shroud said he would kick xQc from the server. Although the reason for xQc's latest ban from NoPixel isn't exactly clear, he's become a notorious figure in the NoPixel roleplay community.

xQc's first ban came as a result of directly breaking NoPixel's server rules by killing other characters without cause.

His antics reached another peak recently when xQc decided to exploit a glitch to bring a gun into a police department. After being confronted, he shot up the police department, and for this xQc was banned from NoPixel for a second time.

The reason behind xQc's third ban has yet to be officially confirmed by the NoPixel roleplay server, but there's already lots of speculation, with some believing his reaction to an in-game jail sentence is the cause. After Jean Paul was sentenced to 224 months in jail for all of his antics, xQc was frustrated. Some of his Twitch chat members said they would "chat hop" to go grief some of the police roleplayers, to which xQc responded "thank god."

One of the highlighted rules for the NoPixel server claims participants can be banned at any time for "breeding toxicity," and encouraging toxic chats seems to be within this scope. xQc later posted a short statement on Twitter apologizing to his streaming audience but also encouraged them not to spread hatred and to calm down.

Rogue: When is it enough with this guy? How long will he be allowed to just continually break rules and push peoples buttons?

Elon Musk's Neuralink Shows Monkey Playing Video Game With Mind: Watch
Elon Musk finally got to show off his monkey.
Neuralink, a company founded by Musk that is developing artificial-intelligence-powered microchips to go in people's brains, released a video Thursday appearing to show a macaque using the tech to play video games, including "Pong."
Musk has boasted about Neuralink's tests on primates before, but this is the first time the company has put one on display. During a presentation in 2019, Musk said the company had enabled a monkey to "control a computer with its brain."
In August 2020 the company did a live demonstration of the technology in a pig named Gertrude.
Neuralink says the monkey, named Pager, had a chip implanted in his brain six weeks ago. In the video, he was given a joystick that was hooked up to a video game in which he moves a cursor to a colored square. When he successfully moves the cursor, he's given some banana smoothie through a tube.

While Pager uses the joystick, the Neuralink chip records his brain activity and sends it back to a computer for analysis of what his brain does when he moves his hand. The joystick is then unplugged from the machine, but the monkey continues to control the game, with brain signals being relayed by the Neuralink chips.
Theoretically, the same tech could be used to give people control of synthetic limbs via a Neuralink brain implant. In a tweet Thursday, Musk said the first Neuralink product would let people with paralysis control a smartphone.
"What is definitely new and innovative is that there are no cables coming through the skin, and the brain signals are all being sent wirelessly," said Jackson a neuroscience expert who is a professor at Newcastle University,.
"This to me is the advance here, and is important both for improving the safety of human applications (wires through the skin are a potential route for infection) and also as a way of improving the welfare of animals used in neuroscience studies. The Neuralink team has definitely made progress in this regard."
Stump: This seems like big news for other things like Heads up displays and augmented reality.

American Pie 5 Will Happen, Says Tara Reid

Lastly Only 90s kids will remember. Just kidding, A new installment of the popular franchise American Pie appears  to be on the horizon from screen rant.

Tara Reid has good news for those awaiting a sequel update: American Pie 5 will happen. The now iconic franchise began with 1999's American Pie, a high school comedy focused on one group's pact to lose their virginity. The original movie starred several actors who have gone on to have big careers, including Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, and Natasha Lyonne. Reid played Vicky, who ends the movie breaking up with her boyfriend Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), assuming their relationship won't survive college.

Reid returned for two of the franchise's three sequel films: American Pie 2 and American Reunion. Like a few other members of the first film's cast, she was missing from 2003's American Wedding.

In an interview with ET, Reid provides an update on American Pie 5. The actor says she's seen the script, calling it "one of the best ones" in the franchise. Reid also states the sequel "will happen, I just don't know when." She explains timing is the biggest obstacle to getting American Pie 5 made, though the actor says she's still in contact with her former castmates, which should help.

Disneyland's Avengers Campus Opening Date Announced
Disneyland's Avengers Campus will finally be opened on June 4, 2021, at Disney California Adventure.
This immersive new area will be themed around all things Avengers and Marvel, with several locations hosted by a different Avenger and their unique theme, power, and technology. There will be areas focusing on Spider-Man, Ant-Man, and Doctor Strange, as well as the opportunity to encounter Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Black Widow, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and Loki.
Disney originally planned to open the Avengers Campus in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic closed most parks across the country. However, that's set to change at the end of April when California relaxes its lockdown rules.
Alongside the existing Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride, Disney also revealed a closer look at the ancient sanctum, where Doctor Strange will train recruits in the "mystic arts." This area will change at night when the mystic energy lights up the area in strange ways.
As for food and beverages, an eatery has been set up at the Pym Test Kitchen with an Ant-Man theme. Food is oversized or mini depending on the item, and like Galaxy's Edge, Disney will introduce alcoholic beverages for adults.
Rogue - Will Tony Stark be banned from trying the adult beverages?
