In this episode of the Melanin, Medicine & Motherhood Podcast, my guest Dr. Nakyda Dean is sharing the importance of going deep into what you’re meant to do in life and creating a path of your own to get there.

Nakyda Dean is a 2nd year Global Health Fellow with the Heal initiative program at UCSF. She is OB/GYN with interests in underserved medicine, health informatics, and artificial intelligence in medicine. During her time in MPOWERED she is building a business creating individualized solutions for women's health practices to improve efficiency in EHRs to eliminate frustration and minimizing burnout.

What You’ll Learn From This Episode:

Dr. Dean’s own experience working in global health and the life path that got her to where she is today. Finding your passion from the start and aligning yourself within that passion instead of going through the wear and tear that most women in medicine encounter. What brought Dr. Dean into the Empowered group and her experience in the program thus far: what she has learned, what action she has taken, and her main takeaways from the program.
