Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy

Welcome back the the IDP Monday Night Start or Sit series! After some crazy spreads on Sunday, with one noticebale non-cover (looking at you Rams!) we have a Monday Night showdown of teams going in what feels like different directions.

In terms of IDP value though, they are quite similiar and pose similar match-ups to each other in terms of points against by position. Let’s go take a look!

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Interior Defensive Linemen

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Interior Defensive Linemen – Al Woods

Al Woods – Seattle Seahawks – Start

Despite only having a 53% snap share Woods is having a decent year for an IL player; 10 solos, 5 assists, 2 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 PD. Most of this was in one big game, but the Saints are a good match-up, giving up the 8th most points to IL players this year. He is the only one I am really considering this week for this position group.

Poona Ford – Seattle Seahawks – Sit

Poona has the same nice match-up as Woods, but has not done as much this year (15 combined tackles and 2 TFL) despite more playing time (about a 66% snap share). I do like him more than the Saints IL players, but he is a lesser fantasy football play this week compared to Woods.

Malcolm Roach, Shy Tuttle & Albert Huggins- New Orleans Saints – Sit

Roach (six combined tackles) and Huggins (seven combined tackles) have very few fantasy football stats to their names on the year. Neither are worth starting even in deep leauges.

Tuttle has a few more tackles (10 combined) to his name, but is also in that heavy rotation (42% snap share for the year). If I am stating any of them it is him but he is not really worthy of starting either.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Edge

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Edge – Cameron Jordan

Cameron Jordan – New Orleans Saints – Start

Cameron has had a slow year by his standards, with only 10 solos, 8 assists, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks to his name. This is also a poor match-up with Seattle giving up the 8th fewest points to opposing EDGE players. With Geno at QB and what we have seen from Cameron in the past I think you have to play him unless it is a shallow league with clearly better options, but I wouldn’t expect a huge game here.

The Rest – New Orleans Saints – Sit

This is a mess of a time share, with three different players all under 45% for the year; Payton Turner, Carl Granderson, and Tanoh Kpassagnon. Turner and Granderson have all had weeks with no production despite playing and as stated with Jordan it is not a good match-up.

Tanoh has at least gotten two solo each week he has played, so if you are forced into one of these three I would look to him.

Seattle Seahawks – Seatle Seahawks – Sit

Darrell Taylor, Carlos Dunlap, Benson Mayowa, Rasheem Green, Kerry Hyder, this is a bigger mess than the Saints have. Green (65%), Dunlap (47%), and Hyder (48%) lead in shap shares, but none have done much of anything.

Green leads the three with 18 combined tackles, but only has two big play stats (TFL or sack). Dunlap has six combined tackles and no big plays, and Hyder has 15 combined with two big plays. In a less than average match-up (the Saints give up the 14th fewest points to opposing EDGE players) I really want nothing to do with these players. If you have to play one, Green looks like the better play.

If Darrell Taylor plays after being carter off last week this would muddy the situation even more for snap shares, so be aware of that as he is currently trending towards playing.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Linebackers

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Linebackers – Peter Werner

Peter Werner & Demario Davis – New Orleans Saints – Start

Right in the middle of the pack, the Seahawks are 16th in points allowed to opposing linebackers. Demario is right in must start territory when you have to start two or more linebackers a week, as he is LB 18 on the year with a 95% snap share.

Pete Werner started slow in terms of getting playing time this year, as he did not have over 50% until Week 4 when he had 63%. He had a 99% share in Week 5 and then they had a bye in Week 6. It sounds like Werner is in line to continue to see a high snap count, as he did well in those last two weeks before the bye. He had 6 solos, 4 assists, and 1 TFL in Week 4 and then 8 solos and 5 assists in Week 7.

Bobby Wagner & Jordyn Brooks – Seattle Seahawks – Start

Bobby Wagner is LB 8 on the year, while Jordyn Brooks is LB 11. With all the injuries this year, and now bye weeks, both are must starts despite a less than stellar match-up; the Saints are 31st in points allowed to opposing linebackers. Despite that I would be ok starting both players unless I had another, high quality starting linebacker in a better match-up.

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Defensive Backs

Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 7 Fantasy: Defensive Backs – Jamal Adams

Cornerbacks – New Orleans Saints – Sit

Seattle only gives up the 30th most points to opposing cornerbacks, so to say it is a bad match-up is an understatement. Bradley Roby has done little to nothing and Marshon Lattimore has had two good games and two bad ones. If I had to play any cornerback on the slate it would be Paulson Adebo, but he started losing snaps last week too going from a 100% share to around 70%. A poor match-up with little consistent production is not a good fantasy recipe.

Cornerbacks – Seattle Seahawks – Sit

A similiar situation exists here, as New Orleands gives up the 29th most points to opposing cornerbacks. DJ Reed and Sidney Jones (likely back from a concussion) are the only two real plays here, and if you are desperate both are starts I could stomach. They have both produced decently this year each game, with Reed having at least 5 combined tackles in all but one game and Sidney have at least 6 combined in each of his three games; I just do not like it given the match-up.

Jamal Adams- Seattle Seahawks – Start

Adams has gotten at least 5 combined tackles in every game this year. Even in a bad match-up (the Saints give up the fewest points to opposing safetys) you are starting him.

Quandre Diggs – Seattle Seahawks – Sit

Diggs is having a similar year to Adams points wise but has been less consistent. In a bad match-up you do not go for a low consistency play.

Chauncey Gardner Johnson & Marcus Williams – New Orleans Saints – Sit

Marcus has a 96% snap share but only 20 combined tackles on the year. Chauncey has a 67% snap share with 13 combined tackles. Seattle is 23rd in points allowed to safetys and I am not trusting either in line-ups this week.

Malcolm Jenkins – New Orleans Saints – Start

Jenkins has the same match-up but has produced well this year with 34 combined tackles and nearly a 97% snap share. He is a start this week regardless of the match-up.
