Tonight's special guest is Dr. Wanda McKinley from Dallas, Texas, founder and CEO of 'We Are Survivors Foundation', an International non-profit Organization for abused men, women and children. Wanda was a victim of abuse for 24 consecutive years. Her biological father began to molest her as early as six. Then at the age of thirteen her biological father and stepfather raped her .. until the age of eighteen. With her ex-husband from the age of nineteen, she endured physical, mental, verbal, sexual and financial abuse until she found the strength to leave at the age of thirty-one. Due to the trauma that she experienced; she began to become an example for others. Wanda is a best-selling author, the recipient of an International Humanitarian Award. She's a 2016 Advocate of the Year for Domestic Violence, and a strong Domestic and International speaker. Wanda recently received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Social Advocacy (in 2020) due to her work in the States and Internationally and has a television show called 'We are Survivors'. Dr. McKinley has also launched an apparel line called ROAR and 'We are Survivors Workbook Series'. She is also the owner of McKinley Consulting Firm where she is a Behavioral Modification Strategist. She notes, "Our mission is to provide a stable environment for abused and battered men, women and children in providing temporary shelter, counseling and provide employment training.” Wanda wants to "empower men and women so they can and will survive and thrive in society on their own and to uplift them and provide them a new life, a new prospective of normalcy by enhancing and elevating their lives."
