Taylor is the Chief Performance Engineer at Statespace, a neuroscience and AI gaming company developing holistic training tools to increase human performance, with a particular focus on cognitive output in esports and gaming. Prior to this, Taylor held several human performance roles with collegiate sports teams and the NFL as a Strength and Conditioning coach with the San Francisco 49ers. During his stint at the 49ers, Taylor was in charge of the physical preparation and rehabilitation of the players as well as developing and implementing the team’s nutrition and sports science/wellness program.

On today's show we learn more about Taylor’s very unique career path and how he's bringing the science and skills from traditional sports performance into esports. We discuss the notion of pro esports players as "athletes", understand why the current career of a pro esports player is only 2-4 years, and what then can be done to increase players performance and longevity. We also look at how cognitive performance training can be applied to traditional sports and other areas such as stroke recovery.
