Sam is Head of International Business Development at Sina Sports, one of the largest sports digital media platforms in China. Sina Sports are the exclusive Chinese broadcast partners for over 90 sports properties, including the European Champions League, UFC, Wimbeldon and PGA Tour. In conjunction with their sister company Weibo, China’s largest social media platform, Sina Sports also operates social media accounts with more than 100 million followers. They've also expanded into offline sporting events including Asia’s largest FIBA-certified 3 on 3 basketball tournament. 


Sam shares his insights on the Chinese sports ecosystem, including the "pyramid of fan engagement" and how Sina Sports use a combination of digital, social and offline to service these different user bases. Sam also discusses how China is recovering from coronavirus shutdown and what that could mean for sports reopening domestically and around the world.
