On this episode Paul is joined by returning guest, Noha Hefny, to talk more about unsung heroes. This time Paul asks her who her unsung hero is.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

There are so many unsung heroes around the world, but the category of people who really touch my heart are humanitarian workers around the world who are dedicating their lives to helping and serving different communities and selflessly living in sometimes challenging, difficult circumstances, remote areas, in conflict zones where their lives are at risk all because of their drive and passion to make a difference. These are my unsung heroes.
Every one of us can do heroic acts for the service of others based on a very strong conviction. This can be ignited by anything, a small or major incident in anyone’s life. That courage to let go of thinking of the consequences of the things we do because we know we’re doing the right thing therefore you are willing to go to great lengths to do it. I believe this is inside of every human being on the planet.
There’s so much pressure on us to meet expectations of so many people in our lives and so many people struggle with that and are fearful when they don’t make everybody happy, but the reality is you can’t make everybody happy. The most important thing is to make yourself happy and fulfilled with your actions and belief in what you do, who you are, how you act, behave, interact with others, that’s the starting point for any change or difference you want to make. To transform society you have to transform yourself first.
The nature, creation and resources around us are there for us to enjoy and to develop and improve. This is, in my mind, the role of a human being; you have a responsibility to everything around you. It was created for you to enjoy this life and to live in it, but at the same time you have a responsibility to improve and develop it and to leave a positive impact wherever you go

BEST MOMENTS

‘My grandmother raised 7 kids as a single woman after her husband died at a young age. She’s also an unsung hero but in a very different way.’

‘It’s all about love and selflessness.’

‘Once we break the fear we can bring our authentic self out to the world and not care so much about the outcomes of things we stand up for or decide to do. It becomes much easier for us to do things that we believe in selflessly to help others, even if people around us don’t agree with our actions.’

‘Every small action makes a difference. It doesn’t have to be grand, it can be a simple gesture that inspires positive action.’
