We have been socialized to think that the people taking care of us can handle our traumas. We have to realize that the people taking care of us are human as well. 

We see our healthcare providers as warriors that can handle anything, but they also have their own traumas to heal from. Cyndi and Neelofar explain how our healthcare providers are not trained to hold space for healing. Society expects our doctors and nurses to provide health services without feelings. Our healthcare workers risk burnout, depression, and anxiety with the more stress they take on. Healthcare workers are doing a disservice to their patients if they are not finding the time to heal themselves. There is always space for self love and self growth in our careers. If you find yourself constantly surrounded by trauma remember that it is important to find the time to heal from the secondary trauma you take on.
