Emotional Vulnerability

This week on Soul Focused Radio our host Martin Friedman is joined by Jay Martin Jr. to have an amazing discussion about emotional vulnerability. Jay is the host of The Drive Project Podcast show on Apple Podcasts! We are so happy to have him on this new episode to offer a new perspective for our listeners. We hope to have him back on very soon to dive deeper into vulnerability. 

Jay begins this episode by sharing his experience with emotional vulnerability as a a black man, and what he learned about vulnerability as a child. He explains how many men and people of color see vulnerability as a weakness. During his childhood Jay saw many family members breakdown, but they would never go get help for their mental health. As a society we have to realize therapy isn’t just for rich people or white people. Our bodies and minds need maintenance to continue to grow. In the second part of this podcast you will hear Martin and Jay talk about  vulnerability in relationships. Being vulnerable strengthens all types of relationships. When we show up with no insecurities we can build honest and trusting relationships with anyone. Thank you for listening, and remember being vulnerable does not make you weak!
