For the #SXSW2024 world premiere of her documentary AN ARMY OF WOMEN, I spoke with filmmaker Julie Lunde Lillesæter about the journey she and this army, Marina, Hanna, "Amy", and their fellow claimants, were on during the making of the film as Julie followed the process of their class action lawsuit against the Austin, Texas judicial system for failing to prosecute their sexual assault cases.

* Trigger warning for mentions of rape and sexual assault during the interview, and in the film*

After years of being disappointed, unsatisfied, and feelings of betrayal by a system that's supposed to, these women with the unwavering support of their lawyers Jenny and Elizabeth demanded justice for themselves and other victims of sex crimes and got it. This film #AnArmyOfWomen is their story.
