In this episode of Carolyn Talks..., writer and director Celine Song joined me to talk about Past Lives, her critically acclaimed debut feature film which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

The film stars Greta Lee as Nora, an aspiring playwright whose forgotten memories of her past life in South Korea is awakened when her childhood best friend Hae-sung played beautifully by Yoo Teo, reaches out for connection. As Nora and Hae-sung rediscover their friendship, Nora's husband Arthur (John Magaro) is able to see a whole new side to his wife and marvel at it.

In our conversation, Celine and I spoke of how the film is a narrative exploration of platonic romance and finding the courage to move on from past loves and lives.
