Dr Monish Bhatia is a Lecturer in Criminology at the Birkbeck University of London where he researches the use of electronic monitoring on refugees in the UK. Since a similar scheme has been proposed in Australia in lieu of indefinite detention, Miles chats to Monish about what happens when you turn society into a prison.
