Ghost in the Shell (2017) | Movie Review

For the first time ever the Ghost in the Shell franchise hit the big screen in a live-action feature film. With a big name attached to it, Scarlett Johansson, slated to play the Major; producers were hoping this would be the anime to live action break into Hollywood many were looking forward to for a long time. With the movie being in production for 9 years, the movie went through many setbacks along the way, including an infamous "whitewashing" controversy. But aside from these setbacks did Ghost in the Shell win over audiences and get the ball rolling for more anime to be adapted into live-action Hollywood blockbusters? More importantly, does this final installment (for now) live up to the highly respected Ghost in the Shell reputation built over decades by the manga and numerous animes?
