Hi, I’m Sukhraj Singh from Sikh Archive and welcome to the sixteenth episode of our Podcast series of conversations with historians, authors, academics, journalists and activists on topics related to their areas of expertise on Sikh or Panjabi history.

In this episode we are joined by Professor Balbinder Singh Bhogal, an associate professor in Religion and the holder of the Chair in Sikh Studies at Hofstra University. His research interests include decolonization, modernity, philosophy, yoga and Sikh studies, to name but a few.

Today we will be exploring a discussion on Sikhi and Buddhism and more generally the outlook of world religions with respect to western, Indic and east Asian faith and traditions. In addition to laying out the similarities and differences between the two faiths, Professor Bhogal really begins with a much needed introduction on how we perceive knowledge in order to lay the foundation of critically understanding what is meant by religion.

Professor Bhogal's academic profile and publications are available on his academia.edu profile via the following link, https://hofstra.academia.edu/BalbinderSinghBhogal
