This interview with Gigi is juxtaposed with the interview I did previously with her mother Shelly. Both women are entrepreneurs but were born into two dramatically different environments, yet each faced their own set of challenges and opportunities. Gigi, as a Gen Y'er, not a Millennial, has interesting insight into being in this generation "gap" and graduating from college directly into a historically devastating global recession.
She tells me about her deeply uncomfortable experiences as a young woman visiting India, having been raised in the UK. She felt like a second class citizen based on her gender while spending time in her ancestral homeland.
She is highly educated, ready and willing to take risks with her feet firmly on the ground, but admits to feeling caught between Generation Y, the slick and authenticity driven Millennials and the fast growing super tech savvy Gen Z'ers.
