The loss of a loved one is our worst fear. And for many, it's a reality. But it's also a reality that we're not encouraged or comfortable talking about. So the person experiencing loss can feel very isolated, alone and unsure of what's normal. People don't know what to say, so they don't say anything at all.
In this episode, I was so fortunate to be joined by Lucinda Pyman who generously shares about her experience losing three loved ones - her Mum when she was 10, a close friend in a car accident when she was 21, and her daughter when she was stillborn.
Her willingness to share her story allowed us to explore:
The individual experience of grief - and how it can be impacted by your life stage/their life stage at the time.
Why it's difficult for people to talk about loss
How people can support those experiencing loss of a loved one
Why people behave the way they do while then they're grieving.
