Previous Episode: The Break Up Letter

I'm not too fond of labels and decided that the Trauma label did not apply to me long ago. That decision came from a place of not understanding what Trauma really is. I thought it was only something that happened to you that met one or more of the following criteria:

it happened when you were a childit was tragicyou lost someone you loved (I handled that a long time ago 🙄)you watched someone you love suffer

We are so quick to disregard what we don't think applies to us, so I tuned out a lot whenever this topic came up. My view of Trauma has been enlightened, and I bet yours will be, too, when you listen to this podcast.

It's a little bit of Stuart Smalley and a whole lot of Jesus. Why? Because although it's essential to identify the problems in our lives, I would always rather talk about the solution.

Speaking of-Jesus had a perfect solution❤️

"Come to me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest."

Thanks for being here with me today, Kali & Michelle; I couldn't have this valuable conversation without you!

What is Trauma?

Trauma is an emotional or physical response to one or more physically harmful or life-threatening events or circumstances with lasting adverse effects on your mental and physical well-being, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA).

On the She Surrenders podcast we are talking about women, faith and addiction all on the same platform. There are many podcasts for women and sobriety, but very few for women seeking information and stories from others about faith-based recovery. Could you leave a review for the SS Podcast? Subscribing and Reviewing will help get this in the ears of those searching for God's word in Recovery. I'm trying hard to get the word out, and this is a way you can be a part of the solution as well. Thank you!
