What’s your why?

Mrs Farai Mubaiwa joined us this week in an eye opening episode filled with her experiences and challenges which have helped make her who she is today.

Mrs Farai Mubaiwa is an ambitious lady working towards upskilling and empowering the youth of South Africa in order to uplift their lives.

Mrs Mubaiwa is the co-founder of the Africa Matters Initiative , which is a youth-led organisation that is committed to helping and motivating African youth, to change their communities and the African narrative through leadership, social entrepreneurship, and advocacy.

The initiative was formed due to the lack of media coverage of African lives in comparison to their Western counterparts, and the negative narrative that has been painted for Africa.

This Initiative also hosts big events such as networking sessions and workshops on African leadership and women's empowerment, school talks on youth empowerment, and annual summits titled “Towards a Better Africa”.

Farai is a Partner at Youth Employment Service (YES). YES is a business-led NPO which works in partnership with government and labor to initiate policy changes which incentivises the creation of jobs for youth.

Farai received a Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2017 for her work to empower young people through the Africa Matters Initiative, which brings together Africans who are committed to involving their peers in conversations about identity and leadership.

We had the opportunity to speak to Mrs Mubaiwa about The Africa Matters intiative, Relationships,Purpose, leadership and more!

I hope you enjoy what we have for you!
