Saying this ONE phrase is the key to happiness:
-Reference Case Kenny’s episode on “Pyt”
-Life HAPPENS - it throws you curveballs, it always has and always will.
- If it feels like the world is out to get you, it kind of is and by addressing it you’re only letting it sh*t on you more!
- In today’s episode we’re going to talk about why “sh*t happens” and how accepting this magical phrase is one of the most important KEYS to happiness! I’m even going to tell you a story about one of my “sh*t happens” days I had recently.
- Accepting that “sh*t happens” is the key to happiness.
- Why does sh*t happen? Life may seem like it’s out to get you. That’s because it is. Why? Because humans are meant to grow, learn, evolve, want more, progress and how are we supposed to do that if everything is good all the time? Think about what you learn from. You usually learn lessons from negatives. Date the wrong guy? You learn what you DO want. Make a mistake at work? You learn how to operate differently next time. We don’t love this experience but without it we’d never evolve or grow or learn!
-Now, you aren’t choosing to stub your toe or spill coffee on yourself, that’s life. And you may feel like that’s not teaching you any sort of lesson. But what if it’s teaching you and constantly reminding you to just let sh*t happen sometimes and choose how you’re going to react and the meaning you’re going to assign to it? What I just said is a perfect example of the whole point of this episode. YOU are in control of how you perceive the world. Good things, bad things. You can choose to say woe is me the world hates me f*ck everything, or you can choose to take every bad thing as a learning experience, a growing experience and something that ultimately makes you better. You’re choosing the energy to assign to it and choosing what it means to you.
- You can’t control getting a parking ticket (after the fact) but you can a) learn a lesson: maybe read the signs before parking, and b) control how it affects you / what it means to you. Decide to say “f*ck it” and it won’t go on affecting the rest of your day / life.
- This is a mindset not just a one-word approach. You’ll realize you’re training your brain to just go with the god damn flow. Getting angry and screaming and crying doesn’t get you anywhere and is just a waste of negative emotion.
Want a happier life? Duh! Then stop fretting over the little things that JUST HAPPEN.
