Today, Evelyn and Kimmie discuss her passions with teaching young children and encouraging self love.
Kimmie: Born and raised here in Los Angeles California! I am an early childhood educator. I teach in the same community I grew up in and I love it. I have been teaching students 2 1/2 to 5 years old for nine years now. I received my Bachelors in Child Child Development from Cambridge College and my Masters in Education from Ashford University. I do want to advance in my career and become an administrator. Earlier on, in my career I just had this passion and connection with young children and the youth. One of the things that I noticed in the classroom was that many students didn’t know what self-love meant or how to show kindness towards one another. I made it my goal as an educator to intentionally teach self-esteem and self love to my students. I first start with social emotional support and then everything else just comes naturally. Because of teaching self-love in the classroom I see how my students become confident, kinder, compassionate and it just helps them build character for a lifetime.
